Bosnia and Herzegovina’s October 4 general election for the state House of Representatives features a fragmented electorate divided along entity and ethnic lines, leaving the contest for second-most seats tightly balanced among several parties. Recent polling and candidate list finalization show NiP, SDP BiH, SNSD, SDA, HDZ BiH, and DF clustered in a narrow range, with no single contender establishing a clear edge after the prior governing coalition fractured and amid ongoing institutional tensions. New election technologies and the High Representative’s legal amendments add uncertainty to seat allocation under the proportional system, while entity-level dynamics in the Federation and Republika Srpska further complicate national projections. Trader consensus reflects this parity, with outcomes sensitive to turnout in key cantons, last-minute coalition signals, or any shifts in Bosniak or Serb voter mobilization before polling.
