Current National Weather Service and model consensus for Los Angeles on September 16 points to overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 60s, driven by a persistent marine layer, light southwest winds, and minimal cloud cover allowing modest radiational cooling. This setup supports the market's leading 55% implied probability on the 68-69°F bin while keeping lower ranges like 66-67°F at 26% viable if the layer deepens. Historical September averages near 64°F provide context, yet recent stable high-pressure patterns and lack of cold-air advection reduce odds for sub-60°F outcomes. Traders appear to weigh these factors against potential forecast revisions from updated NWS guidance or on-site observations at key stations like LAX.
