Official observations from the National Weather Service at Chicago O'Hare confirm a minimum temperature of 65°F on August 29, 2026, recorded at 5:51 a.m. local time under clear conditions with light winds and dew points supporting efficient nocturnal cooling. This aligns precisely with the 64-65°F outcome, driving the market-implied probability to 100% as traders incorporate verified station data rather than models or forecasts. The reading sits slightly above the 1991-2020 normal low of 63°F, consistent with a mild late-summer air mass lacking strong radiational cooling or cold advection. A realistic challenge would require a documented revision to the official climate summary or a switch to an alternate station reading outside the resolution criteria, though post-event verification makes such adjustments highly improbable.
