This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 30 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kaus This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Strong scientific consensus from National Weather Service observations and model guidance points to a daily minimum temperature of 72–73°F for Austin on August 30, 2026.** Early-morning readings at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport reached a minimum of 72°F around 5:55 a.m. CDT, with subsequent forecasts from the NWS Austin/San Antonio office and supporting models projecting tonight’s low in the mid-70s (74–76°F). This establishes the daily minimum near the observed value, consistent with the market-implied 94% probability for the 72–73°F bin. Persistent southerly flow, mostly clear skies, and elevated dew points have limited overnight radiational cooling, keeping temperatures above the long-term August 30 average low of ~71.6°F. Recent climatological data show typical late-August minima in the low-to-mid 70s under similar high-pressure regimes, and no significant model runs indicate a colder air mass or enhanced cooling mechanism arriving today. Realistic challenges to this outcome remain limited. An unexpected sharp drop below 72°F would require either a rapid shift in steering patterns or substantial under-forecasting by operational models, neither of which is supported by current guidance. Minor revisions to the final official observation could occur if additional stations report slightly different values, but the central tendency across authoritative sources strongly favors the 72–73°F range.
