Strong model consensus from regional forecasts supports trader alignment on a 15°C daily maximum for Wellington on September 5, with northwesterly winds and partly cloudy conditions limiting daytime heating to that level. Official observations and numerical weather prediction outputs, including runs from global models, show temperatures climbing to around 13–15°C during peak afternoon hours before cooling under increasing cloud cover, aligning with typical early-spring baselines for the region. This positioning reflects real-time data integration by traders rather than speculation. A rapid shift in steering patterns or localized topographic effects in Wellington’s terrain could still push the peak to 14°C or 16°C if model guidance updates overnight.
