**Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads trader assessments at 77% for Quebec’s next premier ahead of the October 5, 2026 election, reflecting the Parti Québécois’ sustained polling edge among francophone voters and first-past-the-post dynamics that favor its geographic concentration.** Recent surveys show a tightening race, with the PQ at roughly 27-29% and the CAQ under incumbent Premier Christine Fréchette at 21-25%, followed by the Liberals at 18-23%. Plamondon’s emphasis on sovereignty and positioning as the primary change candidate has maintained support, even as Fréchette highlights economic management amid U.S. tariffs and upcoming leaders’ debates test both frontrunners. Lower probabilities for Charles Milliard and others align with their parties’ more limited seat projections in current models.
