Recent numerical weather prediction models from agencies like AEMET and ECMWF indicate peak temperatures in Madrid on September 8 will likely reach 34–36°C, driven by persistent high pressure, clear skies, and southerly advection of warmer air masses amid an extended late-summer heat pattern across Iberia. This aligns with observed regional anomalies, including Spain’s 45.7°C reading earlier in the week, though Madrid’s elevation and urban heat island effects moderate extremes compared to southern valleys. Climatological baselines for early September average near 28°C, with historical records rarely exceeding 37°C in the city; current ensemble guidance shows limited spread and minimal precipitation risk, supporting trader consensus around the 35–36°C outcomes ahead of final forecast updates.
