Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Austin indicates persistent southerly flow and a strong high-pressure ridge sustaining minimum temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s°F on September 8, with limited overnight radiative cooling under mostly clear skies. This setup favors outcomes near 76–79°F while making sub-70°F readings dependent on an unforecasted frontal passage or increased cloud cover and moisture that could enhance cooling. Ensemble spreads remain modest, reflecting typical late-summer variability in the region where historical September lows average near 70°F yet recent patterns have trended warmer. Updated model runs and any shifts in steering currents will be the key near-term catalysts for trader adjustments.
