Official National Weather Service observations at Los Angeles International Airport recorded a daily maximum of 81°F on September 5, 2026, reached at 1:33 p.m. local time under mostly cloudy conditions with light winds. This verified reading aligns precisely with the 80-81°F bin, driving the market’s near-100% consensus as traders incorporate the authoritative post-event data release. Marine layer influence and typical late-summer coastal moderation kept temperatures close to the 1991-2020 normal of 77°F rather than pushing into higher ranges seen in inland or record years. Only a substantial revision in the final climatological summary or a shift to an alternate station definition could alter resolution, scenarios traders now view as improbable given the completed observational record.
