Massachusetts' 9th congressional district maintains a strong Democratic tilt, reflected in Bill Keating's 2024 reelection margin and consistent "Safe Democratic" or "Solid Democratic" ratings from forecasters ahead of the November 2026 general election. The incumbent faces a Democratic primary challenge on September 1 from Craig Swallow, while the Republican nominee is expected to be Tyler MacAllister; however, the district's composition across Cape Cod, the South Shore, and suburban areas has produced double-digit Democratic margins in recent cycles, with no Republican House win in the state since 1994. Limited fundraising and visibility for GOP candidates, combined with the absence of major polling shifts or national tailwinds altering the baseline, underpin trader consensus around a commanding Democratic outcome. A primary upset producing a significantly weakened nominee, a late-breaking scandal, or an unprecedented statewide Republican surge would be required to meaningfully alter the positioning.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
