Chen Yu-jen, the Kuomintang (KMT) nominee and incumbent Legislative Yuan representative for Kinmen County, holds a dominant position in the November 2026 county magistrate race. The KMT Central Standing Committee formally nominated her in early March 2026 as the party's sole registered candidate, emphasizing her record defending local interests in cross-strait matters and legislative advocacy. Kinmen remains a traditional KMT stronghold where the party has won most magistrate contests in recent cycles, and no major opposing party has fielded a high-profile challenger to date. Lower-priced alternatives, including former magistrate Yang Cheng-wu and independents such as Li Wen-liang, reflect limited organized opposition or polling traction. The implied probability in trader consensus aligns with the structural advantages of party nomination, incumbency networks, and historical voting patterns in this offshore county. No significant late developments have altered the positioning ahead of the November vote.
