Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for coastal Los Angeles point to a minimum near 64°F overnight into September 5, driven by clear to mostly clear skies, light variable winds, and the moderating influence of the marine layer that limits radiational cooling. This aligns closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 64.5°F for the date and recent observations showing overnight lows of 64–67°F amid stable high pressure. Traders have priced the 64–65°F bin highest because ensemble forecasts show little deviation from this baseline, with only modest uncertainty from potential thin cloud cover or slight shifts in onshore flow that could nudge the reading a degree either way. Stronger cooling would require atypical cold-air advection absent from current patterns, keeping lower bins at minimal implied probability.
