**Current forecast consensus from multiple models points to a daily maximum near 35°C in Chongqing on September 5, aligning with the market's strong preference for that outcome.** Subtropical high pressure and limited cloud cover have supported strong daytime solar heating, with recent midday observations climbing into the mid-30s amid moderate humidity and light southeasterly winds. Historical September baselines for the region average highs around 29–31°C, but persistent clear conditions this week have elevated readings. Model agreement remains high for a peak at or just above 35°C, though minor differences in timing of any afternoon convection could allow a brief spike to 36°C. No major frontal systems or rainfall are expected to suppress temperatures before the daily high is recorded.
