Official forecasts from the National Weather Service place Seattle’s August 30 high in the mid-60s to lower 70s, with most private models converging on 68–69°F or 70–71°F under morning cloud cover that gradually clears to mostly sunny skies. Light southerly winds and a lingering marine layer limit rapid daytime warming, while afternoon solar insolation after partial clearing drives the final peak; traders therefore assign nearly equal weight to the two leading bins because small differences in cloud timing or boundary-layer mixing can shift the daily maximum by 1–2°F. Historical averages near 75°F underscore that today’s cooler pattern reflects typical late-summer onshore flow rather than an anomalous event.
