Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs indicate a persistent onshore flow pattern will limit afternoon highs across Los Angeles to the mid-to-upper 70s through low 80s on September 2, with marine-layer stratus and southwest winds near 10-15 mph moderating peak temperatures. This aligns with climatological norms for early September, when the region typically sees highs near 77°F absent strong offshore winds or ridging. Trader focus on the 76-79°F range reflects minor model spread in boundary-layer mixing and sea-breeze timing, alongside uncertainty over exact station reporting (e.g., downtown versus LAX). No significant synoptic shifts are expected before resolution, keeping implied probabilities clustered around these bins.
