Florida's open-seat 2026 gubernatorial contest favors the Republican nominee due to the state's recent electoral patterns and structural advantages. Republican U.S. Representative Byron Donalds leads the August 18 primary field by wide margins in available surveys and holds substantial fundraising and endorsement edges. On the Democratic side, former U.S. Representative David Jolly appears positioned to advance from his party's primary. General-election polling shows Donalds ahead of Jolly, though margins vary, while nonpartisan race ratings classify the contest as Solid or Likely Republican. Florida's Republican trifecta, consistent GOP victories in statewide races since 1998, and the party's performance in the 2024 presidential election contribute to the current trader consensus reflected in the 82.5% Republican probability. The primary results and any late shifts in candidate positioning remain key variables ahead of the November general election.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
