Recent polling from early August 2026 shows Reinaldo Azambuja leading intentions for Mato Grosso do Sul's two Senate seats, with Capitão Contar positioned as the strongest contender for second amid a fragmented field that includes Nelsinho Trad, Vander Loubet, and incumbent Soraya Thronicke. Traders price the second-place outcome near even odds because the multi-candidate race features comparable support levels for several names, vote-splitting within parties, and limited differentiation on key state issues such as agriculture, infrastructure, and federal transfers. Upcoming campaign events, additional surveys, and any formal alliances or withdrawals before the October election could shift positioning by clarifying voter consolidation behind frontrunners or elevating lesser-known challengers.
