Recent National Weather Service and model guidance shows San Francisco under persistent upper-level troughing, with marine layer stratus and southwest winds of 10-20 mph limiting daytime heating on August 31. Official forecasts converge on highs of 63-66°F, several degrees below the late-August climatological average near 70°F, positioning 64-67°F ranges as the market leaders. This setup follows a cooling trend through the weekend, with ensembles indicating minimal warming potential before the trough shifts. Traders are weighting these official point forecasts and ensemble spreads heavily given the short lead time to resolution on the daily maximum temperature.
