Persistent marine layer conditions and strong onshore flow from the cool California Current, with sea surface temperatures near 55–58°F, are capping San Francisco highs near or below the 69.8°F climatological average for August 30. National Weather Service guidance and recent model runs point to partly cloudy skies with afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 60s, as sea breezes tied to Central Valley heating reinforce the inversion and limit solar heating. Trader emphasis on the 68–69°F and 70–71°F bins reflects minor uncertainty in the timing of any stratus burn-off and wind strength, while lower probabilities for 66–67°F or warmer extremes align with the historical dominance of marine influence during late August.
