Official NOAA observations from Los Angeles stations, including key airport and downtown sites, recorded a daily maximum of 84-85°F on August 29, locking in the 100% market-implied outcome for that bin. Stronger onshore flow and a deepening marine layer following the prior heat wave suppressed inland heating and capped coastal peaks near normal August levels around 85°F, consistent with National Weather Service climatological summaries. Ensemble model guidance had converged on this moderation after mid-week highs exceeded 90°F. Minor revisions to preliminary data remain possible until the subsequent reporting cycle closes, though historical patterns show such adjustments rarely shift values across bin thresholds in these conditions.
