Latest weather model consensus from agencies like the China Meteorological Administration points to a maximum temperature of 34–35°C in Chengdu on September 6, driven by persistent subtropical high pressure and limited moisture influx typical of early autumn in the Sichuan Basin. Seasonal norms for the region average near 28–30°C, but recent multi-day warming trends and urban heat effects have elevated readings, aligning with the market-implied probabilities favoring 35°C at 46% and 34°C at 28.5%. Ensemble forecasts show modest uncertainty from variable cloud cover and wind patterns, with only low odds assigned to 36°C or higher. Updated model runs over the next 24 hours will likely refine these projections ahead of resolution.
