Recent National Weather Service forecasts project a high near 100°F for Austin on September 20 under sunny conditions, driven by a persistent upper-level ridge maintaining hot, dry air with light southerly winds and minimal cloud cover. This aligns with above-average late-summer heat, where the climatological mean high is around 90°F. Trader consensus favoring 96-99°F outcomes reflects model ensemble spreads and uncertainty in afternoon mixing or subtle moisture increases that could cap temperatures 1-3°F lower than deterministic runs. Official updates from NWS Austin/San Antonio and refined model guidance expected in the next 24-48 hours will likely refine these probabilities ahead of market resolution.
