Official National Weather Service guidance calls for a mostly cloudy Monday in Denver with a high near 85 °F and a 50 % chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, aligning closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average of 84.5 °F. Afternoon convection, driven by modest instability and southwesterly flow, introduces the main uncertainty: earlier or heavier storms could enhance cloud cover and evaporative cooling, capping readings in the low-to-mid 80s, while delayed development might allow brief clearing and a push toward the upper 80s. Ensemble model spread and recent dry conditions support the tight market clustering around the 82–85 °F bins, with traders weighing storm timing against typical late-August diurnal heating profiles. Updated NWS briefings and next model runs will refine probabilities ahead of resolution.
