Rick Allen secured a first-round majority exceeding 50% in the Republican primary for Georgia's 12th congressional district on May 19, 2026, advancing directly as nominee without a runoff. This outcome in the heavily Republican-leaning district, where the incumbent faced limited opposition, aligns with historical patterns of low intra-party competition in safe seats. Democrats required a June 16 runoff after their May primary produced no majority, but trader consensus on an overall first-round outright winner reflects the dominant GOP primary dynamics and the general election matchup between Allen and Democratic nominee Ceretta Smith. No major late developments have altered these primary results ahead of the November general election.
