Current National Weather Service and model guidance for Los Angeles on September 2 point to sunny conditions with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, supported by persistent onshore southwest flow and marine layer influence that limits afternoon heating. This setup aligns with early-September climatology, where the long-term average high near downtown or LAX hovers around 77°F. Traders have concentrated probability on the 74–79°F range because ensemble consistency shows limited deviation risk absent a shift in steering patterns or stronger offshore flow. Minor upward adjustments in some runs reflect typical diurnal warming potential, while the low odds above 80°F capture the chance of reduced marine influence. Updated model runs and NHC-adjacent coastal observations over the next 48 hours remain the key near-term catalysts.
