Tarrant County’s positioning in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race reflects its suburban voter shifts within the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Democratic nominee James Talarico holds a leading implied probability because recent statewide polling shows the contest as a toss-up or narrow Republican edge, with Talarico drawing stronger support among independents, Hispanic voters, and suburban demographics that have trended competitive in prior cycles. Republican nominee Ken Paxton, who defeated incumbent John Cornyn in the May runoff after securing a Trump endorsement, faces headwinds from past legal and ethics issues that have weighed on his general-election appeal in urban-adjacent counties. Fundraising disparities, with Talarico raising significantly more, and ongoing ad campaigns focused on costs and record have reinforced trader assessments of county-level outcomes ahead of the November 3 general election.
