Russia’s Supreme Court ruling in August 2026 removed Yabloko from the nationwide party-list ballot for the September legislative elections after a lawsuit by the pro-Kremlin Rodina party, citing alleged procedural and financing violations. This decision, upheld on appeal, prevents the liberal opposition party from competing in the proportional representation system that requires at least 5% of valid votes to clear the Duma threshold and secure seats. Yabloko has not reached that threshold in any national election since 1999, and state-aligned polling placed it well below viability amid documented administrative barriers and limited media access. Trader consensus at 99.1% for “No” reflects these structural constraints in Russia’s electoral process. Remaining uncertainty centers on any successful final appeal to the Constitutional Court or unexpected procedural reversal before voting concludes.
