The centre-left opposition's consistent polling lead ahead of Sweden's September 13 parliamentary election underpins trader consensus around Magdalena Andersson as the next prime minister. Recent surveys show her Social Democrats at roughly 29-32% support, with the four-party opposition bloc at 50-52% versus 46-48% for Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's right-wing grouping and Sweden Democrats ally, though the gap has narrowed from double digits in summer polls. Preferred prime minister ratings similarly favor Andersson near 41% against Kristersson at 23% and Jimmie Åkesson at 15%. Key campaign issues including cost of living, crime, energy, and immigration have sustained the opposition advantage, while the Liberals' struggles below the 4% threshold further complicate the incumbent bloc's path. Late tightening leaves room for shifts before votes are cast.
