**AfD leads recent polling averages at 36% ahead of the September 20 Landtag election, placing it well clear of the incumbent SPD at 29% and smaller parties including the Left at 11-12% and CDU at 9-10%.** Stable survey results from INSA and Infratest dimap through mid-August show the gap holding around seven points, reflecting sustained voter preferences in the eastern state. The SPD-led coalition with the Left has narrowed its deficit slightly in the most recent readings, yet remains short of overtaking the AfD. All other parties rule out coalitions with the AfD, limiting its path to government formation despite the projected plurality. Traders price the AfD as the clear frontrunner for the largest share of seats based on this consistent polling pattern and the short remaining campaign window.
