**Official National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts for September 6, 2026, indicate a high temperature in the mid-70s for New York City, driven by northeasterly flow advecting cooler maritime air under partly sunny skies with a modest chance of showers.** This places the outcome near the boundary between the market's leading 76-77°F and 74-75°F bins. Recent days featured warmer readings in the low-to-mid 80s, but a shift to onshore winds has suppressed daytime heating below the long-term September 6 average high of roughly 79.5°F. Key variables affecting the precise maximum include cloud cover timing, any brief shower activity, and boundary-layer mixing; updated NWS guidance and hourly observations will refine these details before resolution. Traders' closely matched probabilities around these two bins reflect the narrow forecast range and typical uncertainty in pinpointing the exact daily peak.
