Official National Weather Service forecasts for Miami on September 16, 2026, project a daytime high near 89–90°F amid partly sunny skies, northeast winds of 13–15 mph, and scattered afternoon thunderstorms typical of late-summer South Florida patterns. High humidity supports heat indices reaching 98–102°F, consistent with climatological norms for mid-September when sea-surface temperatures remain elevated. This consensus from NWS and supporting model runs underpins the market’s near-certain positioning on the 90–91°F bin. A realistic challenge would require stronger-than-expected afternoon clearing or reduced convective activity allowing temperatures to push into the low 90s, or conversely, persistent cloud cover and heavier rain suppressing the peak below 89°F; updated model guidance or real-time observations could still shift outcomes before resolution.
