This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Forecast models from sources including the South African Weather Service and international ensembles converge on a maximum near 22–24°C for Cape Town on 5 September 2026 under clear skies and moderate southeasterly flow. Strong September insolation combined with dry air and winds of 15–25 km/h from the south promotes efficient daytime heating without significant cloud cover or onshore moisture to cap temperatures. Local variability between the airport station and urban sites, plus subtle steering influences from Table Mountain, creates the narrow spread among 23°C, 24°C, and 25°C outcomes. Recent days have shown similar highs around 20–21°C, supporting trader emphasis on incremental warming under stable high pressure. Updated model runs this morning remain the key near-term catalyst.
