Incumbent Democrat Lauren Underwood seeks re-election in Illinois’s 14th congressional district, a suburban and exurban seat west of Chicago that leans Democratic and favored her with 55 percent in 2024. Forecasters rate the contest Solid or Safe Democratic, reflecting Underwood’s fundraising edge, primary dominance, and the district’s structural tilt. Republican nominee James Marter, who prevailed in his March 2026 primary, faces a steep path absent a major national shift or unforeseen local development. Trader consensus at roughly 94–95 percent Democratic probability aligns with these structural and resource advantages, though late-cycle national headwinds or candidate-specific events could still narrow the gap before November.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
