The open seat created by longtime Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson's retirement anchors trader expectations in Florida's 24th congressional district, a South Florida constituency with a strong Democratic partisan voting index that has consistently delivered large margins for the party. Multiple Democratic candidates competed in the August 18 primary, with the nominee positioned to face only token Republican opposition in the November general election under the current map. This structural advantage, reinforced by the district's voting history and lack of competitive Republican infrastructure, drives the market's heavy weighting toward a Democratic outcome. A major scandal involving the Democratic nominee, an unforeseen national political shift, or unusually low turnout could narrow the margin, though such developments would need to overcome entrenched local demographics and party registration patterns to alter the result.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
