**Trader sentiment for Chicago's September 13 high centers on the 72–75°F range, reflecting the latest National Weather Service forecast and model consensus for a moderated peak amid northwest flow and increasing clouds.** Official guidance from NWS Chicago calls for a high near 72°F, with morning sunshine giving way to mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers by afternoon as a front influences the area. Early readings in the upper 60s support limited daytime warming, consistent with climatological norms for mid-September when average highs run around 77°F but recent steering patterns have favored cooler Canadian air. Ensemble guidance shows tight clustering in the low-to-mid 70s, with minimal upside risk from stronger mixing or clearing. Higher bins (76°F+) carry lower implied odds because sustained southerly flow or delayed cloud cover would be needed to exceed model consensus, while sub-72°F outcomes appear unlikely absent stronger northerly advection. Updated short-range model runs and surface observations through midday will be the key near-term drivers for any late shifts in these probabilities.
