This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Republican Party to contest the FL-09 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Republican primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Republican sources, including https://www.rnc.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.A crowded field of nine Republicans competing for the open nomination in Florida’s 9th Congressional District has produced a fragmented vote ahead of the August 18 primary. A mid-August Victory Insights poll of likely GOP primary voters found the top four candidates—Jorge Martinez, Thomas Chalifoux, Ben Butler, and Dan Green—statistically tied in the low-to-mid teens, with 41 percent undecided. Limited name recognition across the redrawn district, overlapping emphasis on affordability and reducing federal spending, and the absence of a dominant frontrunner or major outside spending have kept the contest tight. Late endorsements, such as Rep. Anna Paulina Luna’s support for Green, along with final-week advertising and turnout efforts among different geographic and ideological segments of the electorate, could shift support and produce separation before ballots close.
