Katie Hobbs holds a strong position to carry Maricopa County in the November 2026 Arizona gubernatorial election, reflecting her status as the Democratic incumbent and the county’s urban-suburban demographics. Recent statewide polling averages show Hobbs leading Republican nominee Andy Biggs by roughly 10 points, with surveys from late August placing her support near 50 percent. Biggs secured the Republican nomination in the July primary with over 70 percent of the vote but trails in general-election surveys conducted since then. Maricopa County accounts for a majority of the state’s population and has trended more Democratic in recent cycles, supporting higher implied probability for the incumbent. The race remains subject to shifts from campaign spending, turnout efforts, and any late developments before Election Day.
