Recent polling from Datafolha, Quaest, and other firms shows incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) leading first-round voting intentions at 37-40%, with Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) consistently second at 30-34%. This gap has narrowed slightly in recent surveys but remains stable, reflecting consolidation of right-leaning support behind the Liberal Party nominee and son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Other candidates, including Augusto Cury (Avante) at 8-10%, Ronaldo Caiado (PSD), Renan Santos (Missão), and Romeu Zema (Novo), trail further behind amid vote fragmentation on the right. Campaign advertising began in late August ahead of the October 4 first round, with no major shifts in positioning reported since party conventions concluded in early August. Trader pricing aligns with this evidence of a durable two-candidate structure for advancement to a potential runoff.
