Persistent rain and extensive cloud cover from a southerly flow are suppressing daytime heating in Seattle, anchoring the highest temperature near 60–61°F according to multiple forecast models. This aligns with current observations showing overcast skies, light to moderate precipitation, and surface winds from the south that limit warming despite the mid-September timing. The outcome sits well below the long-term average high of about 71°F for the date, reflecting stronger marine influence and a stalled weather pattern. Updated model runs through midday continue to cluster in this narrow range, with limited upside potential from any late-day clearing.
