Current National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a high in the mid-80s for Chicago on September 8, driven by southerly flow advecting warmer air after several cooler days with highs near 78°F. This positions 84–87°F outcomes as the tightest cluster in trader sentiment, reflecting minor divergences in forecast timing of peak heating, cloud cover from an approaching system, and boundary-layer mixing. Historical September averages near 79°F and recent early-month warmth provide context, while resolution hinges on official Chicago O’Hare observations. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will likely refine the exact bin as conditions evolve.
