Forecast models for Chicago on September 8 show a southerly flow advecting warmer air ahead of a frontal system, with overnight lows most likely in the mid-to-upper 60s °F amid partly to mostly cloudy skies that limit radiational cooling. Recent warm conditions, including highs near 90 °F earlier in the month, have elevated baseline temperatures, while Lake Michigan moderation and variable wind speeds introduce spread across ensemble guidance. NWS and private forecasts currently cluster around 64–72 °F for the daily minimum, aligning with the market’s tight distribution among 60–69 °F bins and lower probabilities for sub-60 °F outcomes. Updated model runs and official NHC/NOAA briefings over the next 48 hours will refine cloud cover and boundary-layer details that most directly control the realized low.
