Incumbent Ken Sim holds the strongest position in trader consensus for Vancouver’s October 17 mayoral election, supported by name recognition and backing among homeowners even as polls show his job approval underwater. Pete Fry has emerged as the primary challenger after progressive parties consolidated behind the Green councillor following withdrawals by OneCity’s William Azaroff and COPE’s Stephanie Allen. Kareem Allam, Sim’s former chief of staff now running with Vancouver Liberals, draws moderate support as a distinct centrist option. The remaining field, including Colleen Hardwick and Rebecca Bligh, further fragments the vote. Key campaign themes of housing affordability, public safety, and city services continue to define positioning ahead of the vote.
