Municipal elections are currently scheduled to be held in Czechia on October 9-10, 2026. The next mayor of Prague will be elected by the newly constituted council following the 2026 Czech municipal elections. This market will resolve to the first individual who officially assumes the role of Mayor of Prague following the 2026 Czech municipal elections. A qualifying individual must be elected mayor by the city council. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Czechia and Prague. The closely matched probabilities for Tomáš Portlík and Petr Hlaváček reflect the fragmented field ahead of Czechia’s October 9-10 municipal elections, after which Prague’s new council selects the mayor. Portlík leads the SPOLU coalition of ODS and TOP 09 with a roster heavy on sitting district mayors and a platform centered on accelerating housing construction, transport coordination, and school capacity. Hlaváček, the STAN candidate and current deputy mayor for urban development, benefits from incumbency visibility and recent polling that places STAN narrowly behind ANO. Lower probabilities for Adam Scheinherr, Jan Hušbauer, and others track the more limited recent momentum of their respective slates—Praha Sobě/Zelení/KDU-ČSL, ANO, and smaller parties—amid a September survey showing no bloc exceeding 24 percent. Coalition arithmetic after the vote will determine the outcome, leaving room for shifts if turnout, undecided voters, or post-election negotiations produce unexpected alignments.
