Local government elections are scheduled to be held across Tasmania on October 27, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Mayor of the Meander Valley Council area as a result of this election. If the result of this election isn't known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the result of the election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as declared by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission (https://www.tec.tas.gov.au/).Stephanie Cameron holds a narrow lead in trader consensus for the Meander Valley mayoral race ahead of the October 27, 2026, Tasmanian local government elections, reflecting her role as current deputy mayor and established profile within the council. Ben Dudman, a sitting councillor with prior mayoral interest, trails as the main challenger, while outgoing Mayor Wayne Johnston's April announcement that he will not seek re-election has reduced his market standing and opened the contest to additional candidates. The closely matched field stems from limited public polling data and the single-member mayoral vote structure, where local name recognition and community ties often decide outcomes. Upcoming candidate nominations and any late endorsements could widen gaps before voting concludes.
