Recent Met Office guidance positions a 26°C high as the most probable outcome for London on September 6, driven by southerly flow under partly cloudy skies that will allow afternoon temperatures to peak near that level after a mild start. Ensemble guidance shows limited spread around this value, consistent with the market’s 45.5% implied probability for 26°C and secondary support for 25°C or 27°C. The forecast reflects typical early-September climatology, with no strong anomalous ridge or cold front expected to shift the thermal profile substantially before resolution. Updated model runs and official briefings over the next 24 hours will refine confidence ahead of the daily maximum observation.
