**Northeast winds and a shift to cooler, drier air are anchoring trader consensus around an upper-70s high for Chicago on September 6.** Official National Weather Service guidance and recent model runs project a mostly sunny day with highs in the upper 70s, consistent with the 55.5% market-implied probability for 78-79°F and the 33.5% share for 76-77°F. This follows several days of 90s readings that ended as a ridge weakened and onshore flow strengthened. Historical September 6 averages near 80°F provide context, yet the current steering pattern and lake moderation make temperatures at or above 80°F low-probability outliers. The next NWS forecast updates and any overnight model adjustments will be the key near-term catalysts before official observations determine resolution.
