Silver (XAG/USD) trades near $66.50–$67.00 following a sharp rebound this week, driven by a reversal in U.S. Treasury yields and oil prices after the Federal Reserve’s 25-basis-point rate hike on September 16. The 10-year yield eased from a 19-year high of 5.04% to approximately 4.93%, while WTI crude corrected from above $102 toward $95 amid Saudi pipeline developments, reducing near-term inflation pressures and supporting non-yielding metals. A firmer dollar and lingering hawkish Fed expectations continue to cap gains, though silver’s dual role as both monetary asset and industrial input—tied to solar and electronics demand—adds volatility. Key upcoming releases for the week of September 21 include August industrial production, September PMIs, and new home sales, which could shift rate-path pricing and influence short-term momentum.
