Geordin Hill-Lewis, the incumbent Democratic Alliance mayor and party federal leader, holds an 80.5% implied probability in the Cape Town mayoral market ahead of the November 4, 2026 local government elections. His June 2026 selection as the DA candidate and subsequent campaign pledges on policing, service delivery, housing, and jobs have reinforced trader consensus around his re-election prospects in a metro long dominated by the party. Opposition nominees including Dereleen James of ActionSA, Brett Herron of the Good Party, Cheslyn Steenberg of the Patriotic Alliance, and Roger Solomons of Build One South Africa register single-digit odds, reflecting limited recent polling momentum or structural advantages. Scheduled voter registration deadlines and ongoing coalition dynamics in other metros remain key variables that could influence final margins.
