As of early September 2026, no final deal has materialized, IAEA inspectors lack access to key storage and enrichment sites struck in prior conflicts, and the agency reports unresolved proliferation concerns over the unverified location and status of the pre-strike stockpile estimated at roughly 440 kilograms of 60% enriched material. Iran conditions expanded inspections on sanctions relief and a comprehensive accord, while US positions emphasize verification and potential removal beyond dilution. These verification gaps and stalled follow-on talks remain the primary drivers shaping trader assessments of timelines for any surrender or equivalent outcome.
