Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models indicate overnight lows near 58–59°F for San Francisco on September 20, aligning with the market's leading 51% implied probability for that range. A redeveloping marine layer, sustained by the cold California Current and coastal upwelling, maintains cool, moist air onshore amid a moderate pressure gradient from inland warming. Westerly winds and increasing cloud cover limit radiative cooling overnight, keeping minimum temperatures above the long-term September average low of about 56°F. Model consensus shows little deviation expected through the weekend, with resolution hinging on the precise timing of marine layer depth and any localized clearing.
